Our Team

Hospital Administrators

Glenn Barnes, CVT, CVPM
Glenn, a San Diego native, has been working in the veterinary field for over thirty years, Glennincluding five years at an emergency hospital and has been with us at Mission Animal & Bird Hospital since 1995.  He became a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in 1978 and a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) in 2001.  Glenn is a member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association and the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Law Association
 
Glenn has two adult children.  He also shares his home with a Blue Merle Australian Shepherd and two rescued cats.
 
When he is not fulfilling his responsibilities as Hospital Administrator, Glenn enjoys white water rafting. Cars are his hobby.
 
When asked about his goal, he states, "My goal is to make people happy with their pets".

Lisa Hamilton
Lisa was born and raised in the Midwest, specifically the Iowa/Illinois area, and has worked in Lisa Hthe veterinary field since 1976. Because of her passion for animals, she started her career early in the kennel at the local veterinary hospital and knew instantly that she had found her calling in the veterinary field. She has always loved animals, thankfully her parents felt the same way and allowed her to care for many during her childhood and that flowed over into her adult years.  She has been at our hospital since 1986 when she relocated to California.  Lisa handles the responsibilities of co-Hospital Administrator.
 
Lisa has two children, Chelynne and Taylor, who thankfully share her love for animals.  She and her husband, Trevor, also share their home with three boxers, Johnny Bravo, Chaos, and Havoc, a terrier mix Rebbeca and the newest canine members Kibble, Penelope the Flea and Forrest Gump the Chihuahuas they rescued.  The avian family members include Shiraz, the scarlet macaw who is sure she is human, Arlen, the African grey, who talks like a human, Shreck the military macaw who hates all humans, except Lisa of course, Lestat and Lemondrop the blue front amazons who are learning to love humans, Luna the cockatiel and Cricket their handicapped Rosella. Lisa and Trevor have taken many dogs and birds that were in need of medical care into there home for rehabilitation and then placed them in new loving homes when the time was right. They are both passionate about animals and do their part for those in need. They also run an animal rescue organization BoxersNBirds to help find homes for as many animals in need as possible. If you have questions or possibly some spare time, give her a call and see what you too may be able to do for our canine and avian friends.
 
Not only do Lisa and Trevor enjoy spending time with their kids and their animals, they also enjoy working on their home and spend as many hours as possible riding their motorcycles all over southern California. 

Customer Service Shift Leaders

Breanne

Breanne is a San Diego native and moved with her family to the Oceanside area in 1997. She Breeshares her home with her furry four-legged love,

Alex, her rescued chihuahua mix.

She enjoys hanging with friends and dancing. She joined our customer service team in September of 2007 and the best part of the job is taking care of people and their puppies.

Breeanne recently began taking classes to further her knowledge and career in veterinary medicine and is working to acquire her CVPM degree.

 

 

  

Customer Service Representatives

Amy joined our customer service team in April of 2009. She comes to us with several years of Amyexpereience in the human resources department of another local animal hospital. She was looking for an opportunity for advancement and to be able to work more directly with the clients and their pets. Amy was born in Brazil and then moved to California with her family when she was a teenager. She grew up in the Fallbrook area and after college moved back to beautiful San Diego County. She now shares her home with her husband Mike and her MABH rescue Lab Mix, Jewel.
Amy has a bachelors degree in in business from the University of La Verne and is close in completing her Masters in Business at Cal State San Marcos.
In her spare time she enjoys yoga and is passionate about working with people and their pets and brings that passion to our customer service team loving the energy, compassion and famiy that Mission Animal truley offers in each new day.

 

 

Dara joined our customer service team in July of 2009. She is a San Diego native and has Daracalled the north county area home all her life. She comes to us with 20+ years of experience in the equine training and equine management fields. She is excited about learning about the small animal side of animal care and veterinary customer service in general.

Dara lives in Esconidido with her three feline family members, Avery, Elliot and Izzy all of whom were adopted as kittens.  She also shares her life with her two horses and spends as much time as possible riding and caring for them.

One of Dara's passions has always been working with people and animals, and she brings this to our team.

 

 

 

 

Tinel joined our customer sevice team in July of 2009. She is a California native who was born Tineland raised in Riverside. Her parents and sister's family still call Riverside home. Tinel is the proud aunt to her sister's beautiful little girl.

 Tinel moved to Virginia for four years where she worked in the human medical field at a family practice. Her longing for the west coast and her family brought her back to California and she relocated to the Oceanside area.  

Tinel shares her home with her furry feline friends King and Mason, who she adopted from the hospital.

In her free time, Tinel enjoys reading and relaxing in the sun, whether it be at the beach or by the pool.

 

Jessica joined our Customer Service team in 2009. Jessica

She has lived on both coasts in Seattle and then New Jersey before her husband's military career brought them to the Oceanside area.

She and her husband share their home with their three cats, Sharkbait, Oreo and Trouble.

Jessica is also passionate about her pony Roxy and spends many weekends at equestrian events and just in general spending time with Roxy.

She enjoys her work at the hospital and hopes to one day work as a veterinary nurse and achieve her RVT degree.

 

Philana joined our  team in 2009. Philana

She is a California native, born and raised in Vista.  She graduated from Vista High School in 2006 and is currently attend Mira Costa College in Oceanside in hopes of becoming a Respiratory Therapist in the near future while also getting her bachelor’s degree in Human Development.

When she is not working or going to school she enjoys spending time with my honey child Tacoz, an 11 year old Chihuahua and Jake a 7 year old Golden Retriever.

In her free time she enjoys taking trips with friends, anything involving classic cars and going out for sushi.

 

Exam Room Nursing Supervisor

 

Carol has lived her whole life in Oceanside.  She has been part of our staff since 2003,Carol first working with the pet care specialist team and now with the nursing staff. She has a deep passion for animals which has led her to volunteer her time to adoption programs and also Ivey Ranch Equestrian.
 
Carol achieved her AA degree at Mira Costa Community college and has completed several semesters through Purdue Universities Long Distance Veterinary Technician program. Becasue of her years of experience in the field, she is eligible to sit for her state exam in 2010 and obtain her RVT license.

She and her husband, Dustin, who was her high school sweetheart have two dog’s, Molly and Moose.  Other family members include two cats, Fatty Patty and Sushi, and turtle, George. 

They love to take their dogs to the park, fish, anything to do with art and travel.  Her long term goals include getting a degree in Art History, opening a bakery and opening a wildlife rehabilitation center and rescue center for dogs.

Carol's extended family already includes a turtle named George, two pugs (Pongo and Chibi) and Bun Bun, the rabbit.
 
Carol and Dustin, of course, enjoy spending time with each other as well as going to church at Calvary Chapel in Vista.  Other interests include hiking, fishing and taking in Padres games at Petco Park. 

 

Exam Room Nurses

 

 Renee  Renee

 Rene is a California native, who was raised in Glendale Arizona for some of her early years.

She moved back to California and is attending Palomar College with hopes of transferring to California State San Marcos and receiving her Bachelors of Science degree in Zoological sciences.

She has worked in the veterinary fields since 2005.

She lives in Oceanside and is owned by Apollo the cat, who really thinks he is a dog. 


In her free time, Rene enjoys traveling, snorkeling, cooking and oil painting. Her career goals are to work with animals in any capacity but preferably in a wildlife park or conservatory.

 

 

Madison was born and raised in Los Angeles, where she lived with her parents, her sister and Madisonher Grandmother. She moved to Santa Clarita to attend high school and then relocated to the Vista area in 2006.

She is fluent in sign language after studing at the College of the Canyons. She enjoys running cross country and was the league champion in her high school.

She has always loved animals and was thrilled to be able to join our team and begin her career in the veterinary field. She is currently enrolled in school and hopes to obtain her RVT licence.

She is interested in rescuing those in need in her spare time. Her feline family includes her 3 kitties Muffin, Sophie and Flea Bug, whom she adores.

Her canine family includes Bindy her American Pitbull Terrier, the love of her life, and Frenchie the French Bulldog.

  

  

  

Nursing Team Supervisor

Rosie 

 Rosie joined our team in March of 2009. Originally from Huntington Beach, she moved with herRosie family to the north county area in 1995, where she began her veterinary career with Mission Animal and Bird Hospital as a customer service representative. She pursued her goals and passion of becoming a nursing team member with another local hospital for several years and then returned home to us this year. She has had the opportunity to work with exotic birds, reptiles, orphan puppies / kittens and also wildlife like opposum's. She brings all this experience back to our nursing team.  Welcome home Rosie!

She and her husband John (married in 2002) are owned by 4 kitties named Winnifer, Pixie, Spot and Pud. They also share their home with 12 hermit crabs, (yes they all have names!) and their Pug Ginger.

When Rosie is not spending time with her husband, at work or with the animals, she enjoys reading, watching movies and does not mind admitting that she is and 80's music junkie. Journey is the band for her. She is and AVID hockey fan and enjoys the thrill of the live action games.

  

Nursing Staff

Lindsey is an Oceanside native and lives with her dad and her 5 animals. She is mom to threeLindsey cats, Rusty, Tigger and Stormy , and two dogs, Maddie and Holly.

Lindsey joined our staff in July of 2007 after working for another local veterinary hospital for the past 3 years. 

In her spare time she enjoys reading and going to the movies. She plans to get her RVT degree and would like to be an emergency technician after that.

 

 

 

 

Kyle is a San Diego native. He attended school at the University of Oregon, but has since Kylerelocated back to San Diego to be near his sister Carly and his dad Glenn. 

He joined our team in July of 2008 as part of our nursing staff.

His cat Bailey was a birthday gift from his sister Carly and they are best buds.

In his free time, Kyle enjoys camping, reading and most of all sports. Specifically SD sports...GO Chargers!!  Go Padres!!!

 

Laurie joined our nursing team in June of 2009. She is a midwest gal, born in Wisconsin and Laurieraised in Illinois, who then migrated west and landed in California. She started her medical career in the human field as a paramedic. She decided she wanted to apply her love of medicine with her love for animals and entered the veterinary field of medicine in 2003. She started her career in veterinary medicine at an emergency hospital and brings that experience to our team.

She is mom to three wonderful sons, two of whom are grown and on their own and her youngest son who is 11 years old. She is also mom to a black labrador named Ellie. Her kids and her dog are her life!

Her early years in Illinois allowed her to grow up around all sorts of animals.  She loves them all with the exception of spiders and ticks.

Her career goals include achieving her RVT degree as well as pursuing her interest in canine behavior work.  She says that laughter is a MUST in everyday life and makes one of her daily goals to help share a laugh and a smile with all people she meets.  

 

Tia is an Oceanside native who joined our Petcare Team in 2007, and has moved to our TiaNursing Team. Tia shares her home with her son Desmond, and "furry" family members Kasey, Peaches, deaf Boxer Helen (whom she adopted from MABH). She has five cats, Bugs Bunny, Stinky, Mamma, Bonsai, and Pixie. Also a very charismatic Sulfer Crested Cockatoo named "Chicken".

Other than her passion for animals, She also enjoys History, Knitting, Painting, and Singing. Her professional goal is to become a Veterinary Technician, and maybe operate her own animal shelter/rescue one day.

 

John is a San Diego native who joined our nursing team in May of 2009. After 20 years of John Cworking in the construction industry, he decided a change of careers was in his future. He has always been very passionate about animals and decided to begin taking courses at a local community college for his veterinary assistant certificate and also began volunterring at the San Diego County animal shelter. Once he completed these courses he decided to continued his education in hopes of recieving his associates degree and becoming a licensed RVT in the near future.

He is very community oriented and has close ties with Brother Benno's a local organization that assists the communiy by offering food and shelter to those in need. Family, friends, community involvement and a love for all creatures at what keeps him focused and happy in life

Jeremy joined our resort team in May of 2009, when we were located at the previous facility. He Jeremeycame to us with pet care experience from the local animal shelter. He has since moved to our nursing staff and is anxious to learn more.

Jeremey is an Oceanside native and graduated from Oceanside High School in 2006. He shares his home with two sweet little dogs, a miniature poodle names Sweets and and a maltese named Tommy.

He and his partner Tracy enjoy spending time at the beach watching the waves roll in. He also enjoys writing and playing music.

His career goal is to one day attend veterinary school and receive his DVM degree.

 

Chelsea joined our nursing team in August of 2009. Her first job was at age 15 in North CarolinaChelsea as a dog groomer. She knew immediately that she had found her calling and it was to work with animals! She has called California home since 2000 and graduated with honors from Mesa San Diego College with a degree in Animal Health Technology. In October 2009, she passed the state board exam and recieved her RVT licence.

She and her husband have four furry feline kids, Lady, Tigger, Baby and Yoda, and one furry canine kid that they adopted at MABH, Daisy.

When she is not working or taking care of her kitties, she enjoys watching basketball and spending time with family and friends. She is also interesed in traveling, photography and psychology.

Her career goals are to earn her Veterinary Technician Specialty licence in dentistry, become a commitee member of the CVMB, and maybe one day teach future RVT's.
