WE'VE MOVED!

WE MOVED TO OUR NEW LOCATION!

After two years of planning and eight months of construction, Mission Animal & Bird Hospital has moved to its new location at 655 Benet Rd. in Oceanside.  Also sharing the new facility is Bark Avenue Resort &Kamp for Pets.  The location is on the southwest corner of Benet Road and Rt. 76, one quarter mile west of the airport and just one half mile from the present facility.

Dr. Bob Cartin, Hospital Director at Mission Animal & Bird Hospital, has teamed up with architect, Mel McGee of Melvin Dalton McGee Architects Inc , Fred Babuscio of Babuscio Construction, Inc. and award winning Interior Designer, Evelyn Avinante of Avinante and Associates, Inc., to design and build the 11,000 sq. ft. facility, which is one finest veterinary centers in San Diego County.  These three firms have designed and built a number of award winning veterinary facilities in southern California.  The design team and Dr. Cartin have pooled their experience and expertise to insure that every facet, of this project, was designed with the care and comfort of the patient (and their care giver) in mind.  And aesthetically, it is second to none!

When asked about the new facility, Dr. Cartin states, “Our veterinary team always strives to be on the cutting edge of veterinary care.  Having a new state-of-the-art facility allows our staff to do just that for many years to come”.

Not only does the veterinary center house the veterinary practice, but also the Bark Avenue Resort &Kamp for Pets.   The resort features luxury boarding suites, Doggie Day Care, professional dog training and a pet salon.

Dr. Cartin goes on to say, “To most of our clients, their pets are family members.  Whether the care giver is going to work each day or going on a month long vacation, they want peace of mind that their four legged child is receiving excellent care in a comfortable, attentive and stimulating environment.  The Pet Resort and Doggie Day Care does just that!”

A park-like outdoor play area allows canine guests and day campers to enjoy Oceanside’s wonderful climate.  For inclement days, there is a large multi-purpose room for indoor playtime.  For guests who are spending the night, there are spacious, luxury accommodations with televisions so that our canine guests can watch their favorite TV show or movie.  In the near future, there will be video cams, so that their human family members can visit with them, via the internet, from anywhere in the world.

The Bark Avenue Dog Park will be open to the public at no charge, on certain weekend nights so that dog lovers will have a place to mingle with other dog lovers and exercise their furry family members.  Resort Director, Erin McGhee, is planning a number of Nights at the Bark Avenue Dog Park, including a Singles Night, a Seniors Night and a Family Night, where kid-friendly movies will be shown in our Multi-Purpose Room, while parents can relax outside watching their dog play with other canine friends.

The Multi-Purpose Room is also available, at no charge, to the public.  The 650 sq. ft. room seats 40 people comfortably and is a purr-fect venue for scout groups, home owner associations, clubs or any other non-profit group or service organization needing a meeting place.  Interested parties should contact Erin McGhee to reserve the room for a single meeting or on an on-going basis.

In summation, Dr. Cartin was sure to point out, “A premier veterinary center is more than just a fancy building.  Our warm, caring team of well trained veterinary doctors, nurses and customer service representatives makes our practice what it is.  Every one of our staff members is passionate about providing our four legged and feathered patients the highest quality medical care and their care givers the highest level of customer service.  This high level of care and service will only continue to improve at the new facility.”

The veterinary center continues to be open seven days a week - Monday through Friday 7am - 7pm and Saturday and Sunday 8am - 4pm.  The phone number is unchanged (760) 433-3763.  Our email address is MissionAnimal@aol.com.
